The Central Government, in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 642 of the Companies Act, 1956, has amended rule 10-B of the Companies the Companies (Central Government) General Rules and Forms, 1956 enabling companies to pay remuneration upto a maximum of rupees five thousand to a Director for attending each meeting of the Board of Directors or committee thereof instead of existing limit of rupees two thousand only.

2. The said revision will be effective from 1^st April, 2000.
