The Reserve Bank of India, having considered it necessary in the public
interest and being satisfied that for the purpose of enabling the Bank to
regulate the credit system to the advantage of the country, it is necessary to
amend the Non-Banking Financial Companies Acceptance of Public Deposit (Reserve
Bank) Directions, 1998, in exercise of the powers conferred by Sections 45J,
45K, 45L and 45MA of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 (2 of 1934) and of all
the powers enabling it in this behalf, hereby directs that the said directions
contained in Notification No. DFC. 118 / DG (SPT) / 98 dated January 31, 1998
stand amended, with immediate effect, as follows, namely -

In paragraph 2, in sub-paragraph (1), in clause (xii), the
following new sub-clause shall be inserted, namely -
" (k) any amount received by issuance of
commercial paper, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Bank vide
Circular No. IECD. 3 / 08.15.01 / 2000-2001 dated October 10, 2000 ".

In paragraph 4, in sub-paragraph (1), in clause (ii), in the
table, in item (d), the words, " Duff & Phelps Credit Rating India
Private Ltd. (DCR India) " shall be substituted by the words " FITCH
Ratings India Private Ltd. "
In the Second Schedule,
i.
for the word " Calcutta ", wheresoever it appears,
the word "Kolkata " shall be substituted .
ii.
in item No. 3, in the ' Area under jurisdiction ' column, the
words,
" State of Madhya Pradesh " shall be substituted by the words, "
States of Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh "
iii.
item No. 12 shall be substituted by the following, namely, -:
" 12. Kanpur Regional Office : States of
Uttar Pradesh and Mahatma Gandhi Marg Uttaranchal " Kanpur - 208 001
iv.
in item No. 15, in the ' Area under jurisdiction ' column, the
words, "State of Bihar " shall be substituted by the words, "
States of Bihar and Jharkhand "
