Resource Mobilisation By The Mutual Fund (1998-99)
 
 

The data for resources mobilised by the mutual funds are available for April-November 1998 only. As such, during 1998-99 (April-November), the total funds of the order of Rs.16602 crore were mobilised by 32 schemes launched by the mutual funds as against Rs.10609 crore raised by 37 schemes during the corresponding period in 1997-98. In 1997-98, for full year an amount of Rs.17245 crore (figures exclude redemptions/repurchase of units) was raised by 36 schemes. Thus the resources mobilised by the mutual fund industry in the current year so far have shown a substantial increase of about 57 percent during the current year so far over the same period in the previous year. The UTI mobilised Rs.10785 crore during April-November 1998-99 followed by the private sector mutual funds with Rs.4096 crore and public sector mutual funds with Rs.1005 crore. During April - November 1998-99, 2 more mutual funds were registered with the SEBI of which one has foreign equity participation in the asset management company.
